ACTIVE CONTEST
TWO GENERATIONS. ONE STORY. WOMEN

THE THEME IS NOT OPTIONAL

Every submission must clearly respond to the theme of the competition.

Technical quality, originality or visual strength cannot compensate for a work that does not address the stated theme.

Entries that do not meet the theme requirements will not be considered for judging.

We receive many strong photographs, but please remember that EVI MONO AWARDS is dedicated exclusively to monochrome photography. Colour images are not eligible.

Please also make sure your work clearly relates to the theme of the Awards.

INFO

Evi Mono Awards is a free international monochrome photography award about women.

The submitted work does not have to be created by a woman, but it must be about women.

The award accepts photography only.

Photographers may submit work in one of two categories: Documentary Photography or Conceptual Photography.

Documentary Photography

For monochrome photographic work rooted in real life, observation, people, places, events, memory, social context or everyday experience.

This category is for photographers who use their cameras to witness, record, and interpret the world.

We value honesty, visual clarity, human presence and the strength of the story behind the image.

Conceptual Photography

For monochrome photographic work built around an idea.

This category includes staged photography, symbolic work, visual essays, constructed images, self-initiated projects and experimental photographic approaches.

We value intention, authorship, formal control and the ability to turn an idea into a precise image.

How It Works

Evi Mono Awards is organised through recurring editions twice a year, with submission deadlines announced for each edition. Some dates are chosen for their symbolic connection to the values and themes of the award.

You may submit one work per category.

There is no entry fee.

No account is required.

Selected works may be published online.

Recognition First

There are currently no monetary or physical prizes.

At this stage, Evi Mono Awards focuses on recognition, online presentation and building a clear platform for monochrome photography about women.

Selected works may be considered for future exhibitions and publications.

Monochrome, including black-and-white and single-colour photographs. Photographic editing is allowed, including exposure correction, contrast, cropping, dust removal and tonal adjustments.

What We Judge

We do not judge photography by surface alone.

Each submitted image is reviewed through the strength of its concept, visual clarity, emotional force and use of monochrome language.

We look for photographs that know why they exist.
