Berlin-based photographer, visual artist and trained communication designer. After graduating from the Berlin University of the Arts (formerly Hochschule der Künste Berlin), he worked for many years as an independent graphic designer before focusing increasingly on photography. His work explores portraiture, identity, performance and contemporary culture, combining documentary observation with a cinematic and often painterly visual language. Under the artist name "suteishi", his photographs are licensed internationally through Getty Images and have appeared in magazines, books and other visual media. He lives and works in Berlin.
